Dude, that's the most awesome home aquarium I've ever seen!!!!!:cheer: If you keep upgrading like that, and your tank still looks that good, the state aquarium will be giving you a call:hilarious Any suggestions on anything, I'm getting a new aquarium soon (55 gal) and it's going to be saltwater. I need all the suggestions I can get

Thanks for the compliments again.
Piggy, best advice is make sure you get all of your rock setup the way you want it in the new tank before you start moving over fish and coral because it's not real fun to do aquascaping while trying to avoid crushing a fish. I've always used live sand but I've only been in the hobby for about 8 months now. I never really liked CC.
Gold Strip, The reason I wanted to get a SW tank is because of clownfish, although I have much more expensive fish they're still my favorite. I had the pair of true perculas that were hosting the long tentacle anemone and I had wanted a GS Maroon for a while but everyone told me not to do it because the GS would probably kill them. I bought a real small GS one day and at first the true perc would actually attack him but once I found an anemone the GS would host then he was no threat to them so they calmed down. Now that he's larger the GS will actually swim all the way across the aquarium to say hi to the percs. I would just suggest keeping their anemones apart if possible which is hard because anemones will move if they're not comfortable and take their hosting clown with them.
Patricia, I don't know if your buying the tank or how your getting it but I would get a 75g its a little deeper than a 55g and would be a lot easier to move LR around in and stack high if you wanted to. That's one thing I regretted when I setup the 55g.
t n h, thanks for the compliment. aquariums are like pieces of art and it takes time to make a masterpiece. Don't rush things and just do it right it's always better that way.

I'm also surprised about the shark in the reef tank. How is it behaving? Is it doing any damage to the corals and inverts? How often do you feed the shark and what is its main diet?

Thank you Sir Aquaman!!!
I'm gonna have to talk my old man into getting me a 75 or 100 gallon for my b-day. I really really want a porcupine puffer and they need at least a 100 gallons(the porcupine is my absolute favorite!!!) The lady I deal with at my lfs puts her hand in the tank and pets them(surprisingly they let her and they like it) She let my try it and they feel really neat. They have a soft velvety feeling to them. Again thanks for the info!:D

As I've said before, it looks like I'll be getting the 55 gallon. Would it be ok to put an Achilles Tang, Foxface Tang, the regular size (1 inch) Blue Hippo Tang, 1 Pencil Urchin, and a duster cluster in the tank. It says they are all reef safe (I believe it says I need to monitor one w/the reef). The best thing, it says they are all peaceful.:notsure:

ireven & EUPHORIA,
I love my shark. They are really considered not reef safe because they don't care what they run into when they swim and are also kinda clumsy when they swim in aquariums but so far he's hasn't hurt anything. I feed him krill shrimp once a day, most feed every other day, which I'll start doing when he's a little older. During feeding time it's always a contest between him and my flounder of who gets the next piece of shrimp off of the feeder stick. Sharks will definitely eat all the shrimp you have in the tank, but my peppermint has still managed to avoid him. It's a bamboo shark so he'll eventually reach about 2.5 to 3 ft in length but that will take years and hopefully I'll have an even bigger tank by then.
patricia,
I would not put an achilles tang in a 55, he'll most likely die very quickly that is much too small of a tank for that fish. I had a foxface rabbitfish in my 55 but they do get huge over time so if your gonna upgrade just buy fish small so you have plenty of time to do so. The same thing with the blue hippo tang, all tangs are swimmers that's all they do swim and graze, I know a lot of people with them in 55s but they are not supposed to be in a tank that small. I would probably get a cool wrasse instead they swim as much but don't need as much room, are much more hardy, and there are some really cool looking ones out there (check out the pic of the filamented flasher wrasse, not a great picture but awesome fish). The urchin and duster cluster are no problem.
