Need some fuge and sump help!

Ok heres my question, but first a little info, im going to use (2) 32 gallon garbage cans (roughnecks) one for f uge and one for sump, i'll have a CPR 1400 overflow and a mag 18 for return, my question is whats the best way to hook the two cans together, i was thinking drilling a hole into wach and connect w/ pvc and what not, now i need a list of the things i need to connect them

I would think you could use normal bulkhead fittings for the connection..still, hopefully you won't want to be moving these around, wouldn't want to tear the plastic..btw..i use rubbermaid barrels for making water, and they have held up really well over the years..I shuffle them around on casters, but pull them around pretty hard..
