can i leave them in their, are they harmful? right now i have no fish or corals or anything living other than the rock

It has the potential of spreading throughout the take. Once the tank is stocked it will be difficult to remove. You can tryto remove them by hand in the tank. Just be careful not to break them open.

I think that is an old wives tale... Emerald crabs do not eat them whole.

your right emerald crabs dont eat them whole. but its not a wives tale they just eat any babies before they grow larghe enough to contain more spores to spread, so its actually a two step progam. popping them will cause them to spread.

they look cool now but believe me just picture EVERYTHING in your tank covered in them.

squirt crazy glue on them and peel them off the rock. If you can get the rock out then take it out and remove the bubbles. Don't worry they are fairly tough. It's not tender like a land mine but it does need to come out.
