I'm getting a corner tank LFS's here have 54gl but am going to try to look for larger. Anyways I want a very calm setup - planing on a couple of seahorses, mandarian, and a pair of maroons. Of corse a anemone for the maroons (planning way out I know) but what colorful corals would compliment this type of setup and how would the maroons work with the horses? I've read that they would be ok??? That the maroons are docile enough for the horses to be able to eat.

I think your problem would be that the anemone
would sting your horses!!
I also have a pair of maroons and they are not docile they are pretty agressive to get food for the anemone

about the only safe fish to put in with a sea horse, is th pipe fish, there may be a very few others, that would not steal food from them, but not too many, maybe a bottm dweller(like a scooter blenny or mandarin), or a n algaevore, but theat would be about it, and clowns definitley do not fit this category, they will eat tanything you put in the tank, and with ferocity(the seahorse, i would think that the horses would starve for sure)
horses are best off in a species only, bu tmaybe someone else can help more, there area few here that have horse tanks

Maybe a pair of False Perc Clowns, but not Maroons. The False Percs are slow clumbsy swimmers and not very aggressive during feeding.

Clowns are definately aggressive feeders. My tomatoe pair get their fair share, although the female is a good 4", and kept with a tusk and passer to name a few.
:)
I dunno about ocellaris, but imagine their agreesion is similar regarding feeding. The good thing is that they are relatively peaceful, and will only eat so much. I think it would be ok if the horses have refuge and yoyu have 20 gallons extra for the pair.
