I am running a pro clear 150 on my 75g. The return pump is loud, not the pumpimg but a humming from the pump. Is it ok to set this thing on a drip pad to insulate it. It seems the return pump and for that matter the skimmer pump are vibrating in the wet dry .

do you have a mag pump?? Mine vibrated until i was able to support it off the bottom of the sump.

Don't know the name of the pump. If I lift the pump too much I get micro bubbles in the tank.I don't want to add too much water to the wet dry for fear of overflowing during power outage.what did you use to support the pump?

Ok ,just checked the pump. It's called a CA2200 [catalina aquarium].I know the skimmer pump is the same brand. So once again I take it your pump is submerged,so what or how did you support it?

my tank is so stuffed it kinda supported itself. you could probably cut a thin piece of sponge or foam to support it. it looks like its on the bottom of the sump but it sits up about 1/4 inch

I have the same filter and in the instructions (piss poor imo) it says not to use the suction cups. Well due to the noise I went a head and tried the suction cups and it solved the noise problem. As far as the water level in the sump I try to keep it at least two inches above the top of the CA 2200 pump it will cover the bottom row of bio balls (not good i know but gives me about a week of evaperation before water level is to low in sump for return pump) I am pretty new at this so I am sure others here will have better advise. Just keep your post fresh

The instructions were crappy! I don't remember if mine came with the suction feet. Will try and find them,if not I'll try some of that blue mat stuff. My skimmer pump barely fit and the "great" instuctions didn't help much. Had to see a pic on the internet to see the best way to make it all fit.skimmer is loud also! Can't win.
