I have always wanted a saltwater aquarium, so it is pretty unlikely that im not into it :). Im normally good at complex things like i am getting into. I also have heard that nanos have less stable waters than larger aquariums.

I am still considering a Nano tank because i dont want anything massive in the tank either. I am also considering getting a slightly bigger tank, somewhere around 40-50 gallons.

This is a 50 tub. Great tnak to work with. Large enough to give room for a good assorment of corals, provide more stable conditions than a smaller nano but not break the bank in lighting and other equipment costs. You can't keep large fish, but enough room for several smaller types. Add a large refugium, plenty of quality LR and you can build a stable system that will rock.

Cool tank! So i guess i am pretty much sold on a 50 Gallon, since I don't want to keep any huge fish. I am considering a 48 x 18 x 13 50 gallon tank, but i am also considering a 65 gallon 48 x 18 x 17 tank (length X width X height).

how many corals do you want?
i have 75 different colonies in my 195, and i wish i had more space to add a few more.
with a 28 gallon tank, you don't have many choices.

I know that i dont want any huge corals for a fact. I havent specifically chosen my coral yet tho.

Hellow, If you can afford it and you don't mind the investment, I would go as big as possible. Also, if you're going to do a reef, you might want to go with a shallower/deeper tank.

but...they all grow. they will all become huge eventually. and some need to be placed far away from other corals or they will sting them to death.

It depends - some corals grow tall, some grow wide. Some are tree-like, some are pancake like.
P.S. Love your avatar. I am a huge TNG fan... it's a close second, however, to my affinity for Voyager. Lets just say may have all 7 seasons on DVD

Well, i really like flatter corals better since, well, they are flat. If i can get a taller aquarium then i will like coral trees.
P.S. I like TNG the most, Voyager second, and DS9 last. The Original Series i dont really like at all, too, primitive?
DS9 seems to have the most battle scenes of them all, but i guess there was a severe shortage of shields or something when they made it lol.

TOS seems more about the charisma of shatner and his team and less about the gadgets, but I want more gadgets! TNG was my fave but then came along 7 of 9 - she's the hottest borg I've ever seen! There's this one episode where the doc is teaching her relational skills and she lets her hair down... I had a small hernia.

Once you get into coral you can easily fill up a nano in as little as 1 month.
PS - My favorite star trek characters were Han Solo and the wookie
