Need to hard line to sump

That is terrible, sound like a major deal to fix it, (tank draining) if you do, put some shut-off valves in so the next time you need to do some type of maintenance you can cut the water with out draining the tank. Of course that is probably very obvious now.

For some reason I cannot find the specs online for the bulkheads that go with the tank.
I was thinking you already had the bulkheads.
anyway I just go to home depot and use female reducing bushing and male reducing fitting to kinda home make a bulkhead. then you can use standard pcv pipes and fittings for all the other stuff.
I get a cart (buggy here in the south. LOL) and lay out all the fittings and stuff so I can kinda see what is required.
Also at my local home depot they do have some pvc bulknead fittings at the appliance section in one guy's desk. seems they are used by the large plastic pans contractors use under washers. Some people just leave the fittings there and one guy keeps the extras.but they are 1" and may be too small.

I have shut off valves but that doesn't help me because they are not the first thing connected to the barb

I just got back from the hardware store and got the hard line plumbing. I think I screwed up though. I have all the necessary parts but I am making my 3/4" drain to a 1" and my 1/2" return to a 1" return. Both will have dbl ball unions. My question is will it work with both of them now being 1". Please note. The bulk heads still remain to be 3/4" and 1/2" for the return? Will it work? Will it bubble?

I'm a little late to this thread. But IMO going with rigid pvc pipe is not going to decrease the noise vs the flexible tubing that you were running, if anything it's probably going to make it worse. The necessary adapters you'd need to tie into the existing bulkheads is only going to add further restriction and therefore I can't see any reason why increasing the size of your plumbing is going to be any benefit for your considering you're still running with the same size bulkheads.

I'm not too worried about sound anymore, I took care of that. I need to fix the location of my return and drain pipe because they are currently sitting right next to each other. I figure why not get rid of the flex tubing I know that increasing the size of the pipe will increase flow. My concern is they make two different size bulkheads for a reasOn and am wondering if it will work if they are both 1"? Has anyone modified their tank with two of the same size ?

Most people don't because there is no reason to go with the same size plumbing for both. But as long as you don't exceed the capacity if your drains by going too large with your pump then you should be fine. That's the only thing you have to watch out for.
