Need to know a safe underwater epoxy

Just a question, you have a sponge? For how long? Sorry but those are deep water species and require a whole differnt tank setup, like mentioned, they have a very short lifespan if not in the right conditions. Your best bet is to buy a good book and do some reading before buying corals at your LFS. Good luck

If you plan on glueing a gorgonian, to ensure survival of the glued piece, do the following:
1. cut the length of gorgonian you want + about 3/4 - 1".
2. clean the "meaty" part away at the bottom from the bottom where you plan on glueing it.(the 3/4 -1" section)
3. having drilled, or made a small hole in the rock, insert the glue, then insert the gorgonian making sure you have no glue touching the meaty part of the gorgonian.
You can also put the gorgonian in the hole, and stuff a small piece of styrofoam in it to hold the gorgonian in place (better pack it tight, this is what will hold the gorgonian when fully grown). Once the glue dries, the meaty part of the gorgonian will grow over the dried glue. You can use super glue gel.

I frag a Purple Gorgonian pretty often, I use regular old Super Glue and have not lost a single frag as of yet. Most of the frags have grown new flesh over the glue and onto the liverock. Some say Superglue is bad, but I have dozens of purple gorgonians which are thriving that will disagree.
I find a small piece of LR in the tank, remove it, find a suitable hole, dry the hold a bit, fill with superglue and insert the
[hr]
end(which I scraped) of the frag into it. It will hold upright after a few seconds and into the tank it goes. The superglue will set underwater once the frag is in it.
What kind of Gorgonian are you fragging? If it isnt a purple lets swap, your not far from me.
