You know what...I'm going to do you a favor. I am friendly with some of the stores down south and I will ask around to see who will take in your fish as store credit. You don't have to return them to the same store, and you don't have a certain time-frame to do it. MANY LFS's take in corals and fish that need new homes or in emergencies...the only thing that might get in your way is that most stores have a quarantine period for your fish to make sure it's healthy before giving you the store credit. Which is fine, if they're healthy. I've had turn in some fish before and know many people who have done so, as well. It is possible and in your case, the best option.
I'll call around and let you know what stores near you will help you out.
