Need to temporarily move my tank

I'm having a new carpet installed where I keep my 20g. I obviously need to temporarily move it. The plans I have are:
1. Move the tank night before the install and reset up after the carpet is down (24-36 hr). OR
2. Move about 1 week before the install and reset up after the carpet is down.
I'm afraid #1 will cause too much stress to the fish. Also, how could I reduce the likelihood of a new cycle? Can I/should I save the existing water and just transfer to the new location? My R/O system only provides about 50g per day. I also have about 22lbs of live rock and 1.5# of live sand. The tank has been set up for 4 months.
Opinions please
Thanks

go eagles...first of all. second...what is you tank sitting on? if you can take out 20% of the water and move the furniture with the tank on it, you can just leave it as is and replace the 20% like a water change. i would not pick up the tank do to the stress on the glass. another option would be to set up another tank now use live rock, sand and water from the existing tank to cause a fast cycle and move everything over and then go in reverse later. just my two cents, i am sure you will get more ideas.

The tank is on a metal stand. I would have to empty about 90% to move safely. I have 11gal in containers so I guess it makes sense to save the water.

you should be fine, just tank out all but a couple inches of water, put everything in to you containers. and move the tank. Just dont mess with the sand. be very carful when putting the water back in. Have some extra water on hand in case you need to do a water change after the move. when I moved everything lived in rubber maid for a couple of weeks.

This is going to be a really easy procedure. You're lucky it's only 20 gallons. Try doing it with 90 or better. Like everyone else has already said. All but a couple inches of water and slide it across the carpet, stand and all.
