MIne eat anyhting I put in the tank, just like the bi color blenny. The neons are sure some fearless little fishes. At feeding time its akin to having a miniature mako shark in the tank....I just love the way it will grab a chunk of shrimp or clam etc and start the vigorous head shaking trying to tear out chunks like a shark does...Mine is always on a fish like a remora, but what it sees is beyond me, as I never have seen anyhting as a parasite or have my fish show signs of parasites...but what I ave read is they clean other fish like cleaner shrimp do, so I guess parasites is a biggie for it for snacks.

Thanks. I figured as much. I plan to get one if my local stores will ever get them in. I was looking at the neons and cleaner wrasses but I hear the cleaner wrasses are very difficult to keep. I was hoping that if they can eat parasites that they might have some sort of immunity.

My neon goby actually sits in the front middle of my tank and waits for my hippo tang to swim by. The tang stops and the neon will peck the side of him, cleaning him. He also does this with my Clarkii, but not as often as he does it with the tang. If I stick my hand in the tank, he will come and peck at my hand. He is a neat little fish. saltwaterfish.com usually has some good pricing on the neon gobies...

Well I got my two neons in yesterday and the Regal Tang loves them. I will post a pic tonight...batteries dead so had to recharge. Anyway, the tang will sit on the sand and the two neons jump on her and eat away. She doesn't like them near her eyes and gives them a little shake when they get to close. The cleaner shrimp and both gobys were on her at once which was cool to watch. I would like two more neons but to be so small. they aren't cheap.
