Today, I am starting a new thread of my 3 day old nano reef.
I am using: Waterhome 10G tank
Aquaclear filter for 20G with carbon
A 290G/Hour power head
Regular freshwater lighting with an extra blue bulb.
I have: 4 red legged hermit crabs
2 yellow tip hermits
1 lbs live rock from fiji
4 lbs base rock
1 feather duster
I will add: At least 12 more hermit crabs
Sugar size aragonite sand 1.5-2 inches around 15lbs dry
3 lbs of base rock
2 lbs of fiji premium live rock
At least 2 more feather dusters
Then when the sand and the base rocks become live and the coralline algae starts to bloom, I will add: A false percula friendly anemone or soft coral
4 false perculas
maybe 1-2 golden heads
If you have any ideas, please feel free to express them! Thank you! This is my first journal!

Picture coming tonight!

sounds great man. but i think you wanna relax with the fish. thats to much bioload for a 10gallon. 2 false perculas are good. but 4 thats pushing it. and for the golden head. i dont think 1 will even be ok. maybe a clown goby will sound great.
cant wait for pics. remember to test your water daily to weekly to make sure your parameters are great

I have 1 lb of live fiji rock that I cured with the base rock. They've been curing for 2 month now, sow basicly the base rock is live now, even got some coralline algae growing on it. I am cycling the tank right now. NH3|NO2|NO3 are barely traceable. I am using 5G of RO water and 4G of water used to cure my rocks. The water used to cure my rocks is skimmed with a Jebo 182 cheap china skimmer, which works very well.
I think my tank is doing well, the hermits were in the curing tank with my rocks and my feather duster, they are still alive in their new 10g tank. But, I have these little flea/bug like things moving around very fast, they multiplied very quickly since I added a bit of Mysis Shrimp to cycle the tank faster. They feed on uneaten food I think, and they're not copepods, they are longer, like a very very small fly larva and they are white. I would like to know what they are! They are to small to be taken in a picture... Another question, my feather duster shed it's tentacles, how long before it regrows? And why do they do that? Oh and I almost forgot! What is the advantage and disadvantage of having sugar size fine sand over thicker crushed corals?
Thank you guys for reading my post, I will post some pics in a few hours! Oh by the way Nissan, you have very very nice tanks!

+1 about too many fish. I would say one clown max, along with another small fish. 2 clowns can get large.

I will think about it, maybe 2 clowns and few sexy shrimps with small gobys or other sand sifters! Emerald crabs to, basicly it's gonna be a invert tank.

Not to rain on your parade, just trying to point you in the right direction, but that is going to be too many fish. You want 2 fish maximum.

you're going to need WAAAAYYYY more rock than what you posted...
hit up craigslist or a local club forum... can get it for $2/lb (sometimes less) for already cured established stuff..
