Hello all
I've had a 55 reef tank for 10 years and was never set up right being that I did know much at the time, bad lighting bad filtration and some bad habits. I was good at keeping the easy stuff alive and after losing my tang last year (never thought they would live that long 8 or 9 years).
I was real busy with work so I just let the tank sit for the last year keeping the rock alive. About 6 months ago I thought I should just get rid of it or get a bigger tank and do it right, bet you guess what I did,

After that I found this sight and have been reading you guys till I got "Pop eye".
So I thought I would take pics to help other and make it easy for you guys to help with my questions that are starting to pile up.
Ok on with the

Ok going to just show the rest of the stand pics
I found some old doors in the shop so that saved me 300 bucks or a bunch of time makeing them. So mached the stain and then sealed the bottom with some rubber type deck seal with a 1inch leadge.

Got the stand done and got it home and started to put all the cleaned stuff in there and tested for leaks. Started the water fill and put down some plexiglass on the bottom to relieve the rock preasure points. Put my old rock in and found that I needed more, then the sand.

After that was done I got the cleaning crew back in there that came from SWF and they got the rock back in shape sitting in the tub for a couple weeks. Tank never did cycle I guess being that the rock was form old tank.
Then wife and I went and got a few softys to look at till my lights show up this Tuesday, Nove extrame pro. O and the CBS got dibs on the best cave right away

I thought I would post a update one my tank after a about a year into it.
Trying to go as slow as I can and wish I would have started out buying sps's before the softy's as most the sps's take so long to get up and going.
But haveing a ball with the tank so far. Wife is getting jealous from me comming getting home from work and heading right for the tank before finding her in the house.
