I am upgrading my 55gal to a new 125gal. I already have a wetdry trickle filter with hang on overflow. Looking to know what size pump to purchase ( 950/1200? ) protein skimmer, UV sanatizer? I would like to know of some good brands on all componets. Since I already have the wetdry should I stick with this or look for other filteration? Wet dry has rocks and bio balls with filter media in seperate chamber will this work? I would like to drill a hole in the bottom of the tank and have the overflow built in, does anyone have any experience with this? The glass is 3/8's to 1/2 inch thick. Or would the hang on overflow work? I am also buying new lights will 250watt metal halide's work? I will be looking to purchase these items this week and am open for offers on these items for sale.
Thank in advance to all my questions.

DO NOT drill the bottom of that tank...it is tempered glass and will shatter.
as for return pumps and such what size and how many overflows do you have?
What type of corals do you want to keep, as this will determine lighting options.

Right now I only have 1 overflow and have not purchased a pump yet.
Thank you for the info on the glass! We have a buch of different corals and anemones so I do know we need halides. We have a power compact on the 55gal with no halides. Have the money to spend and want to do it right the first time.

I would go with two overflows which would beabout 1200gph, and a mag 18 for a return pump. You can "t" it off to return to the tank with some locline nozzles on the ends for flow direction. also put a ball valve on the return pump so you can throttle back the flow if it is bit much.
then you can put skimmer and heaters and all in the wet dry or refugium, which ever you decide to go with.

Thank You. Which is better refugium or wetdry or is it preference.

i think refugium is better , but it really is matter of preference.
I have a 55gallon fuge on my 180 and all equipment is in the have a coralife ss 220 skimmer, which I would also recommend for you.
and my lights get alot of bashing on here, but I have the 72" odyssea metal halide fixture and I love it. The older models were pretty bad from what I hear but I love mine and they cost about 1/3 what a current or coralife unit costs.
But once again that is entirely up to you.
