Ok guys I have a well cycled month old 135 gallon tank.
It have a big ole wet dry filter but it is not "drilled" instad i have (what i think you call) an overflow any way I really would like a small sting ray of some sort what do yall think? I was also considering a blue ribbon eel but was worried that it may escape through the over flow, dont worry its one or the other. What do yall think? I really am looking for something diffrent as this tank is the focal point of the room and a big conversation piece for friends and family what can yall reccomend for stock?

Well to be honest you can't have too much rocks in there for a stingray but if you want to get one go ahead. For the eel they are really difficult to get to eat, if you can get it to eat then you should be fine. Why not get some kind of tang like a kole tang or a orange fin tang.

Honestly, long term that size tank is not going to be good for a stingray . Ribbon eels are notorious for not eating in captivity and there is a seriously high chance of it not surviving long.
My suggestion would be to go with either an angel and a few smaller less aggressive fish or possibly a trigger of some sort .

well both really good info, I heard the issues with ribbon eels not eating before and I know that the sting ray needs the rock to come out, I was actually considering going with a baby sting ray and buying something to make a "shelf" type thing with legs and a top to support rock but still keep the bottom mostly empty so the sting ray can swim. what do yall think?
also I do love tangs and I have 1 small trigger but I am looking for something really diffrent (well to a novice).
PLEASE REPLY I FEEL UNSPECIAL...no one responds to my posts!!!

While a very cool idea, I think it'd be too difficult to keep this kind of tank clean.

I would have to agree, Stingray may not be the best idea, Ribbon Eel's rarely survive...If you are looking for a "focal point" Lionfish are always good attention getters, they are hardy and entertaining.
Opps just saw you have a small trigger, they don't usually do well with Lions, what kind is it?

I had a lion, panther grouper, snowflake, dogface puffer, emperator angel and a flounder eye. Puffer always eating hermits and nipped anemones. Snowflake stayed hidden a lot , was a little hard to feed , their eyesight is limited to compete for food. You have to spot feed to insure he's getting food. This set-up is obviously for agressive fish.
