Good evening fellow Reef Keepers
I just got home from my LFS and man did I get a deal of all deals on a 140gallon Oceanic reef ready tank. Im so excited to pick it up on Saturday morning. It might take me a few weeks to get it set up but it will be worth it. Im looking for some large reef tank ideas. Please post some pictures.

congrats on the new tank. sounds like it will be fun. I think a colt coral would be great, give him plenty of room to grow and he will become a small monster :) Mine has gotten outta control. Your tank is considerably bigger than mine though, its only a 100, lol which is plenty big for me though. The colt is cool to watch in the current swayin too, and the clowns play in it at times.

I see that you have a blue hipo tang in a 100 gallon!
I have a 90 gallon and I am debating on getting a hippo tang
But I am dicouraged bc I had a naso that went to fish heaven and all the talk about tangs in 125gallon tank min

he's been in about 4 months now. Id say u can go for it if your tank is at least 4 feet long, but 5 is better, and rockwork to hide in :)

Thanks every one. It will be a wile until I get this tank up and running. But for the price I could not pass it up. I figure I will buy all the lighting, sump ect. over the summer and make the assembly of the tank a winter project.

Sounds like you've got a good deal and have a plan....what do you intend to keep in it?
A 140 is a bit of a odd size...what are the measurements? Dual overflows? Are you planning to develop a reef or a fish only?

This 140 is going to be a reef tank. It has dual over flows and is 48.5 x 24.5 x 29. Is this going to be a awsome reef tank or what.

glad you got a good deal.
my LFS is having a huge sale on tanks this weekend. tanks will be nearly half off everything, 125 tank for only 95 bucks is an example. hmmmm i nice 90 bow front is sounding rather tempting at only 115 reef ready.

Muskyhunte is a really great guy, he's helped me a lot in getting my tank setup.
The only problem with him is that i see him every day at work!!
