SOMEONE ADVISED ME NOT TO BUY A USED TANK THAT HAS HAD SALT IN IT BECAUSE ONCE THE TANK IS LEFT EMPTY FOR AWHILE THE SILICONE SORT OF DRY ROTS & WHEN YOU ADD THE SALT WATER IN IT YOU MAY HAVE PROBLEMS I DON'T KNOW HOW TRUE THIS IS BUT YOU MAY WANT TO GIVE IT SOME THOUGHT, ALSO I'M NOT SURE UG FILTERS ARE THE BEST WAY TO GO WITH SALT TANKS.

just make sure that the tank does not leak before you purchase and set it up. you can use fish tank safe silicone to reseal the tank if it does. you'll have to remove the old silicone beads/joints all the way around the tank and set in a new bead/joint that will need to cure for a couple of days. i pulled an old glass tank out of the garage (25 gal) and let it sit outside full of water for 2 weeks before i brought it inside. no leaks! :)
