Excellent tank! Is that a powder blue tang in the first pic and if so any advice/tips on it's upkeep. I got one a few weeks ago and any advice would be appreciated. Great tank again!

Joncat, what is the watts on your lights, MH and pcs?
I'm trying to decide between 3x150w or 3x250w MH for my 180.

yes it is a powder blue. as far as upkeep, I have been told to feed them algae sheets and give them plent of swimming room. I have wanted some tangs forever but had to wait til I got a bigger tank, so now I have em.LOL
the lighting is a 72 inch odyssea 785 watt. 3-175 watt mh and 2-130 watt actinics. I know, I have read all about the Odyssea lights but I personally haven't had anything but good luck with them so far. The fans on it and the ballasts all work fine and r quiet. I also have a stand fan blowing on the ballast to help keep it cool.

Not my thread, but some advice anyway
I hope you have yours in a QT tank. I had a PB in my 150. It was to large to QT in my 10 gal, so I put him directly in my DT, he was pretty big, and nice and fat. Also, he was alone in a tank at my lfs, for 3 weeks, so I figured I was safe even though PB are prone to ich.WRONG!!! 2 weeks in my tank and he got ich, lost him
Heres a pic right after i acclaimated him, very healthy looking right? Good luck, they are the most striking tang IMO

Really sweet inwall, i use to have one, much smaller though, alot of trouble to maintain from the back, but well worth it, nice job!

it is alittle harder to maintain form the back but not too much. I turn the overflows down so they are not rippling the water so I can see in form the top and go to work. when I need to move alot of stuff I have three other guys I work with that have SW tanks and they usually are available to help in moving rock and such.
The benefit is that I am taking up no floor space in my living room. There is absolutley no noise form the overflows and pumps and skimmer. And I built the stand at a higher viewing height than most store bought stands so you can walk right up to it and look around
Overall, I am delighted with the outcome of the tank. I will post more pics as I add more stuff

Does your green chromis school together pretty well. I am thinking of getting some for my tank, but I've heard some say that once in their tank that they really don't stick together?
What is your experience?

I'm sure glad to hear some positive comments about the odyssea lights. All I seem to hear is people calling them crap but it's kind of funny becuase most of the people calling them crap never owned them. They heard a couple of stories from others and just ran with it.I've been doing alot of research on them and I'm hearing that their 2006 models are alot better than the previous, so it sounds like they're working out their kinks.I'll get a unit soon enough..........could you take a couple pics of it if at all possible.Oh yeah nice tank I'm jealous now
