OK so i still have to cyce. I'll keep testing and i won't add any coral til the cycle has run it's course. One more ?, I want to add 2 more pieces of LR from my 55 but both have corals so i'm waiting til the cycle is done. But if i add the rocks after the cycle will they cause another cycle and kill the corals?? thanks for all your help!

Wait till cycle is 100% So long as you keep their exposure to air to an absolute min it should be ok BUT watch the levels still.

how long would it take a 2 gallon to go through a cycle? 48 hours? took my 10g 5 days to cycle. I think this will be an interesting tank when said and done.

IDK how long it will take but it shouldn't be more than a week.

well hurry up there with the pics! haha jk but i cant wait to see them. now u have me thinkig. i was gonna eventually set up a 2 gallon that is just a rectangle w/out hood ect. but now i want either a 2 or 5 gallon hex with a hood i believe. it'd be nice having a tiny coral tank with like 6 watts per gallon sitting by bed!

ps: right now i have a 12 gallon aquapod....the 2 gallon would prolly b a frag tank.

Your never gonna believe this, but now that i have corals in there my camera isn't working!!
Anyway, everthing i added is doing good. Today i came up with yet another free DIY piece of equiptment. I was getting tired of adding 1/3 of a cup of RO water daily so i made a DIY auto top off. It's just a glass full of RO water sitting on a small upturned plastic bucket behind the tank with a piece of airline tubing that has 3 knots as a sphion.(basically, a tiny ultra slow drip acclimation) The unit adds on drip per 45 seconds. I'll probably still add water manualy but i wanted to start slow so i dont make it overflow. Hopefully i'll eventually get it so i can just keep refilling the "reservoir"
I'll post PICS when i get some...
