that is exactly how I tried it, maybe they changed the size or something on the new ones. I have no clue, but the y nozzle like I have it now is working good.
I may still add a hydor flo to it, not sure yet. Thanks anyway...

yes, I can put them back on, but I didnt like it with them on. I like it alot better now for some reason, There seems to be much more flow now. The surface film is gone, my torch is flowing nicely.
It doesn't make any sense, but for some reason, it seemed like the nozzle fittings were reducing the flow somehow. Beats the hell outta me what happened.....LOL

Hey guys, you both have awesome tanks.
For us newbs, can you explain the benefit of fitting a spray bar? Im assuming it is to create better circulation by creating multiple flowpoints, but Im not 100%.
Also, it is circulating the water by pushing water into the tank or air into the tank?

you got it...more flow points for less dead spots.
it is not circulating air but, it does help with gas exchange by cirlculating the water on top.

elitsoh--- excellent post about the plexi. I cut a piece of black acrylic and put it over the lower grates about 3/4 of an inch down from the top and almost instantly the surface scum was gone. I have it overflowing into a bag of chemipure which is sitting on top of live rock rubble right now and everything seems to be going well.
Great idea----thanks

Your nano looks great!
I'm about done using my 10 gallon nano tank (used as a QT), as I just have one more fish to get for my 125 DT. I thought about making it a real Nano reef tank. I think after getting my larger tank up and running I'm about worn out though.
I may give it to my mom, as she's been thinking of putting together a small reef tank.

thanks, and I know what ya mean. When I had my 180 going, I wanted a nano, but the effort was more than I wanted at the time. Already had a 180, 29 in the bedroom, so a nano was out of the question for me...lol
