Thanks for your thoughts, JacobsDad. It really seems like the potential cons of putting a BTA in there are outweighting the potential pros, at this point. I think I will take a wait and see stance with this one.
I'm happy to report the clowns seem happy in their new surroundings. The only surprise I have so far is that they can't eat very large bits of food. I have pellet food which I break up in order for the goby to be able to eat the chunks. I'm having to make even smaller pieces for the clowns. The other thing which is interesting to see is how intimidated my goby is of them. They haven't shown any hostility towards him, but he vacates whichever side of the tank they are on, even though he is bigger. Feeding time is going to take longer now in order to ensure he's getting food!

Actually had a "breakthrough" yesterday. We had purchased a zip lock baggie of homemade food from the lfs some time ago, but hadn't really used it except for spot feeding the corals. I placed a small frozen chunk in the tank yesterday, and the clowns demolished it. AND the goby picked off the parts the clowns didn't get before they even hit the sand. That was great to see.

As far as your pair of clowns go they will work out the female/male roll they adapt and change. The more dominant will become the female and will be larger.
Your Firefish will stay away from your clowns they are very timid fish and a bit skittish.

I forgot to mention I agree with a couple of others i would stay away from pellet food and brine. Brine shrimp have No nutritional value to saltwaterfish.

Thought I'd upload a new pic of the tank. It would be kinda cool to take 1 pic each day from exactly the same spot, and be able to watch a fast slideshow over a years' time of the changes. I'm too lazy to do such a thing, but it's a cool idea, at any rate. This tank looks FAR different than it did just a few months ago.

The aforementioned additions. They were sold to us as false percs.. The strange thing is that the one with just 2 white bars has the characteristic bulge pointing forward in its "middle" white bar (no bar on its tail) while the one with the standard 3 white bars does NOT have a bulge in the middle white bar pointing forward.
They already seem to have sectioned out "their" side of the tank, which is interesting. I thought they were too young to do anything breeding wise.. Perhaps juvies still section their side of tanks out, however. I'm new to these guys and have a lot to learn.

The other family member who has taken an interest in these guys.

That was pretty wierd. I was writing my post as you were posting. lol. And YES! The pellet food really wasn't working well. A LOT of it was ending up in the sand/rock, etc...
And the goby sure does give the clowns their space. He's bigger (longer) than they are, but he gave up his "dominance" of the tank immediately after they were introduced. I was really happy yesterday when he was able to get a good amount of food.

Nice tank! I think that's one of the most addicting things in the hobby. Seeing things successfully grow over time.
