Hi,
I just lost a battle to ick 2nd time around
. My question is this: I just puchased a 30 gallon qt/ht and I need to know what is the best way to cycle it without live rock ? Once its cycled how many fish such as 2 inch tangs can I put in their for at least 3 weeks? I just put the salt and water in "after mixing ect... I have 2 hob filters 1 heater @ 80 and a koralia #4 in their<<is this enough or do I need bubblers ect... also I just threw as directed in a poduct called cycle for added bacteria.
How often would I be doing water changes and am I going to see a spike in ammonia ect...if its cycled properly? My tank has been fishless since 4/27 how long do I have to go before adding my first fish back in display

Ghost feed the tank with fish food. Once cycled, don't add many fish at once. One at a time, unless it is a pair. The point is to allow a place where they can be treated by themselves, should they have parasites. Also, they can become accustomed to tank life without competition. This is incredibly important. Patience, my friend, patience.

Thanks for the reply

The reason I asked this is because what Ive heard is to introduce both tangs at the same time in dp how can I do that if I only have one qt? My one is 30 gallons and I have a 10 but I know the 10 is to small

What kind of tangs were you looking to get? If they are small then two will be fine in the thirty gallon for a month.
