Yes, I have had the tank for about 3 months, and all of my levels are great. I took a sample to the LFS and they said everything looked great.
They just can't seem to get together on what would do well in a 30 gallon tank. I guess they are used to dealing with bigger tanks. I did alittle online research with some of their suggestions and am a little concerned with them.

alot i can't think of right now, but the best way is to make a list of what you want and then post it here and we are very good at narrowing that list right on down. :happyfish

arrow crabs get to mean and big for that size tank, IMO
but the 1" to 5 gallon rule is more like a very loose guideline, like yellow tangs get 8 inches but need 75 gallons, or a pair of percs could be kept in a 15 gallon but would according to that rule need 30 gallons

5 is a big NONO but in a 10 gallon tank with very good filtration is fine.

wooooo nellly! one fish at a time, then wait a few weeks then another, unless of course you are getting a pair of clownfish then you could get both of em, and you won't be able to keep all of the fish i listed in the same tank. Sorry i guess i wasn't clear earlier

Well I had the LFS replace the lights that came with the tank, to the new lighting. Sadly I forgot to ask what type of exact lighting is is called. I know that I went from 2 - 15 watt bulbs to a 65 watt bulb. (It is two bulbs connected and he called them a 50/50). When he retrofitted my hood, we specifically talked about what I was looking for. He told me that with my 30 gallon tank, that my options were somewhat limited. He told me that by retrofitting my hood with the new lighting, that I could have an anemone and about 5 fish. Does that sound about right?

nope, you most definantly will not be able to have an anenome or any other type of light loving coral either. and the amount of light doesn't directly effect the amount of fish you can keep. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

Metal Halides, which cost A BUNCH OF MULAAAA!, isn't it horrible how hard it is to keep anemones, don't worry im in the same boat as you no anemones for me!
