Ok I want this to be correct. as for the cycle stage I have that under control.
I need to find out some important things.
1 do I need a scimmer and why?
2 do how much live rock should i have?
3 I have a pump that will move 1800g/hr or less if needed, this can be returned into the tank from the middle and both side from the back of the tank where it is drilled. do i need all the on the same time?
should the suction from the filter come from the top and bottom or can i use the long tube i have the allow for water to enter the supply to the filter from the top middle and bottom.?
and last DO I Need air bubbles force into tank
this is salt of course. LOTS of salt
Thanks

u need dont need a skimmer tho it is highly reccomended for the tanks w/ large fish who produce alot of waste. u should have 1-2lbs of lr per gallon, so 300-600lbs for u. and yes i would say u need it

wow ok got it.
this tank with the water is like parks my cars in the house with its weight.
so adding the rock is like the wife going to walmart I should be able to handle the extra weight.
I heard of people talking about using a second tank for the rock to be in and sump puming water thru that 2nd tank is this what i can do

Maybe if your second tank is about 600 gallons. haha. You will have to accomodate the 300-600 pounds of live rock, so that will require a large tank (with additional water volume, so you'll need more rock, probably 600 lbs minimum. You are probably refering to a sump/fuge. Do a search on this board and start reading. Theres a lot of research you'll need to do.

new question.
Do I really need to use a sump/fuge setup?
I belive I do just wondering why?
can i start with fish in the tank already and just convert it over, another things is that one of my tanks are not drilled does it have to be or can i use something that hangs over the top?
im thinking that if it hangs over the top it is higher than the water level and wont work correctly with out a second pump/ Am i on the right track?

the sump hides all your equipment under your main tanks stand in a separate tank. The refugium will provide a place for macro algae and critters to flourish without being predicated upon, therefore allowing you to establish a tank where you will have an on-going supply of live fish food (they also help clean the sand) and the macro algae helps your water quality by using some of the nitrates in the water (critters like the macro to reproduce and live in too) If you check out the diy section, look for people asking the same question as you. Yes, with a tank that big i would have too say you should get a fuge, it will look cleaner and easier to deal with in the future. I get about the same (or more) enjoyment looking at my fuge when the lights are on.
