new 40 gallon tank

Hi all I need to know how I can shave off some time cycleing a 40 gallon tank.I need to get a temp tank up and running soon so I can put some fish and coarls in it. Can I just use some Live sand and wait a week or to I have too wait the 4 to 6 weeks.

Teh quickest way would be to put live rock and live sand in a tank filled with RO/DI and a piece of cocktail shrimp (with no animals). It will probably take 2 weeks to cycle
