New 72 Bowfront Upgrade

I just got this thing together about two weeks ago after moving to a new place. I wanted to reaquascape today only to find that the tank was leaking....so now it is completely torn apart again and should be back together friday. I'll update the pics of my new aquascape when I put it back together, but figured I'd throw some pics anyway. Right now I have about 175lbs. of live rock in the tank, a shallow sand bed, running a magnum 350 canister filter, TEK 4-Bulb T5 lights and soon to be large CPR refugium. The fish consist of a firefish, percula clownfish, scooter blenny, and blue fin coral beauty angelfish. I'll be adding a few more when the leak is fixed. Let me know what you think thus far!

Thanks man. Here's a few pics of some of the mess I had on my hands and what it looks like now. My fish don't have ick, there was still a little sand stirred up when I took the pics.

Thanks for the advice on the CPR man, I was debating on how to cut the bubbles down. I'm actually going to pull it off of the tank here within the next couple days and seal it because it now has a small leak (not having good lucks with the leaks). I'm guessing it got beat up a little bit in shipping or the guy I bought it from neglected to tell me...no biggie though. I'll def. be putting my black background back up once I get everything stable. My Magnum Canister Filter's inlet and outlet tubes aren't long enough to fit under the stand, so once I fix that situation and the fuge leak I'll put the background back up and it should start lookin pretty slammin again.

Dude, it's too bad I didn't see this sooner. Are you ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN your tank was leaking?
The Prizm skimmers are notorious for leaking where the front and rear sections are seamed. They will leak and drip down the back side of the tank. Upon hitting the base it will run inside and fill it. Water will then seep out all around the plastic base where it meets the glass. It LOOKS like the tank is leaking. I was dreading taking down my new 72 bow and upon close inspection I found my skimmer leaking...again. I had an extra body because it leaked when I first set it up and Red Sea sent me a new body. I sealed it with 100% silicone and swapped it out. Leak fixed.
Did you find the source of the leak?

This guy could have been doing the same thing.
OK...I've read this thread five times now and I think I understand what's going on.
1-you had a CPR backpack skimmer
2-it leaked
3-the Prizm skimmer box in the pic has not been installed...it is the CPR's replacement?

This is where mine looked like it was leaking. (red arrows) I had salt creep all around the base where the glass fits in.

That is exactly where it was leaking. But... I didn't have either the fuge, or the Prizm hooked up. I've never had the Prizm hooked up because I need my glass tops cut to fit it, and the fuge just came in a couple days ago. In fact, the only things that were hooked up in was a heater and powerhead, since I hadn't rigged the filter up yet (I know, not healthy for the fish but its all I had to work with). I def checked to make sure it wasn't any drip from the top of the tank coming down and just giving the appearance of a leak, but the water coming out of the bottom reappeared way too quickly for that. When I looked at the bottom seals in the tank, they looked REAL thin and scraped off way too easy. I beaded it up good though, so hopefully I shouldn't have that problem again , knock on wood. The picture I posted was when everything was already resealed, I had my whole apartment full of containers full of live rock and equipment. Everybody made it though and everything is back in so I can't complain.

That's good to hear. I was ready to restart our old tank and transfer everything. I was actually happy to see my skimmer leaking again.
If you haven't installed the Prizm yet, I would take the time to seal it with silicone while it's dry.
