New 75gal DT

We have set up a new 75 gal DT in it's new local, added 80 Lbs of "live" sand. (came in a couple 40 lb bags, damp but not wet).
Ran the water for 48 hrs, checked temp. SG, and PH.
We ran two PH pumps and a filter to clear up the water then added about half of the live rock from the old tank. This rock is completly cured.
I don't expect any die off from the rocks, but would most likley see some from the live sand. ???
How long should I wait for ammonia spike? Is there a chance that I won't see one at all?
Once the new tank is cycled, we will move the rest of the rock, and the then the fish and inverts.
Is there any problems in this plan?
Thanks
Bob

most likely u wont see any cycle. the only mini cycle might be caused by the livesand. i say u r good to go after a week.

Just test every four days and see what happens. I would hang a shrimp, it can't hurt. I did the same method and never had a cycle at all. I did wait three weeks before I put anything in the tank.

I cycled my tank for several months.. just because I don't want my expensive fishes to die......I'd rather wait.. patience is the key!
