I was wondering if it is normal for having a 75gal. tank for only 2-3 weeks, and all the Ammonia, Nitrite, and Nitrate to be 0 or close. I started it with 40lbs of LS, 20-30lbs. of regular sand for almost a week then added blue damsals and 45lbs of LR, too help the cycle. But have yet to see a cycle start. Also I added BIOZYME to my sumps bio wheel. and some rapied start my son had. But is just weird I have yet to see a spike in any of the cycles, I think the Ammona got up to .25 or .50, but that was it. Is it safe to add a clean up crew and some hardy fish yet. Because I am getting that brown alage on my sand and stuff. Thanks.

Well my next ??? would be... were did you get your LR from... if you got it at the LFS that it was most likly cured already and that is why your Cycle went so fast. I would still go very slowly. start with just a few crabs because it can spike at any time with any new additions until it is stable.

sounds similar to the situation that I had whe I was first startin g my 72 bowfront. (or 75 i can't remember. ) Well The tank cycled in about three weeks, and then I had a major cyano bact and algae bloom. It went away and then I added fish, had an outtbreak of ich, moved them to a large qt and have only left the tank with invert s for a while until last week. I'll post picts on how it all progressed.

Got my LR from SWF.com. I washed it off with saltwater and put it in. I will try a cleaning crew and see how it goes then fish later. Thanks.
