Actually I wasn't talking about any thread, just asking a question and I figured NM was following this thread since it is his. =) Trying to decide how much sand I want in my new tank and his depth looks visually appealing to me.

lol....just got back....been a busy day.....
My sand bed in the display is about 3"-4"....the 55 gal refugium has a 5"-6" DSB...

In addition the LR in my display is set on PVC sections to keep the LR even with the top of the sand bed...I didn't want the LR to settle under the sand.....plus it makes for less dead space and a much firmer base.

in your tank how many gallons and how many pounds of live rock? I know you said over a 100 gallons but how mutch is that?

It is a 100 gal display...with maybe 75-100 lbs of LR. With the sump and refugium the total water volume is closer to 175 gal and the refugium has probably 50-75 lbs of additional LR.
