New Algae for my tank :(

I have a new algae that just decided to take over starting about 2 weeks ago. It isnt growing over anything but it kind of resembles hair algae. It stays about half and inch off of the rock and resembles moss rather than algae. When i touch it its not stringy or soft like most algae but kinda fibrous and in all actuality again feels like moss. I am running a phosphate sponge and have no trites and very low trates. Anything else i can do to get rid of it? I added 25 blue leg hermits extra this week. I am considering royal/tuxedo urchins (the soft spin reef safe guys) think they would help?

the new algae is probably feeding from the low trAtes. Turbo snales are good at eathing that stuff.
You also may want to try plant life if you don't already have some. I you already have some macros or marine plants you may want to try reducing your lighting. The hair (or moss like) green algaes spread and die faster than macros or marine plants. Reducing the lighting allows the macros or plants to catchup and start consuming the trates. Hopefully the moss/hair would be reduced or eliminated.
