I have been doing great for the last 5-6months and have had no problems until....I bought a powder blue tang that had a little ich, and ever since then my tank has been hell. The powder blue has died...my naso is sick but eats like a horse, and my regal has ich...oldly enough my bangii cardinal and clowns are fine, as well as my inverts. I have tried hypo to solve ich and no luck thus far. I feel as if I should just throw my hands up in the air and let everything die and start all over again...it's really frustrating. Have any of you pros out there just felt like this? How did you handle it?

sorry for your losses and frustrations. Proper quarantine before acclimation into your display tank is obviously a big must keeping these disasters from happening. Don't give up!!! Just learn from mistakes like everyone else!!! good luck in the future!!

I'm no pro but I'll give you my experience anyways.I think everybody at least once in this hobby has suffered from the dreaded ich.
Just keep the ones with ich quarintined and do what you can for them but dont feel defeated we all have gone through this at sometime. It will pass. The best thing to do in the future is to make sure you quarintine your new fish before putting them in your tank.I have learned the hard way before but I take no chances now.

A "little ich" is all it takes and adding a fish with even a light infestation is simply condemning the other fish to the same fate. Rather than quit, get busy treating the fish you have and hope to save them. Why just allow them to die and start over?
Read the FAQ's in the Disease forum on quarantine and treatment for ich.

there's no such thing as "a little ich". ich is ich and it will kill all the fish if not treated. am I right in assuming this is all in a 75 gallon? if so, that tank is not suitable for any 1 of the tangs you have listed, let alone 3. need to do more research. I know that sounds a little blunt, but that's how it is.

a little ick ends up being ick in the long run.
sorry man.
QT is always the best thing to do. Thank god Ick hasent hit me...yet (knock on wood)
try relaxing. take it easy, and the fish out into a QT tank...people are going to snap at what i'm going to say..."Get copper" treat the QT tank with copper. and leave the other tank running, get the levels nominal. Do some water changes.
after a 2 week of treatments in QT with copper i always do a week of anti-biotics and small doses of anti-fungus....i know i know BAD AND MEAN AND STRESSFULL AND BLAH BLAH BLAH, but it cleans them up...then 2 or 3 weeks of observation. then put them in...give it a try.

I'm not a pro, but we've come across a few bumps along the way and we thought about giving up, but we thought about all the money we'd put into it and worked through the bumps and we're always glad we stick it out. Don't give up!
