New anemone

Our tank has been up and running for a couple years now,I got an anemone at the LFS on Friday. It was listed as a Bubble Tip.In the LFS tank it was brown looking and had long, fairly skinny tenticles. After being in my tank for 2 days the tenticals are short and fat.The color had also change to a really nice red.My lighting is 150watt MH and the LFS had PC lighting. This is the only difference in our systems besides the LFS is larger all the parameters are the same(I tested their water when I got home that was in the bag then also tested mine). Why is the anemone so much different looking in my tank?

Your anemone probably is much happier in your tank with the metal halide lighting.....Also, it might need some time to adjust to the new light....Sometimes the Bubblt Tips will try to hid in a dark area for a few weeks when you first get them. This is natural, and you should let the anemone find its only time and place to come out.
Good luck, hope your anemone works out for you!

Simple reason, you have better lighting than your LFS. Anemones tend to have a glowing look, sometimes neon color when under PC's, your anemone will be much more healthy in your tank under MH.

Sounds good, the lighting feeds it,right? Should I feed it with anything else?I have 2 false percs but they haven't gone anywhere near it yet.The anemone is still right where I put it when I got it.It is really cool the way the tenticals are bubble shaped. My water conditions have been perfect for nearly 2 years now,so hopefully it will be ok.

I would feed it a chunk of raw shrimp/silverside once a week. Make sure the piece is no larger than its mouth. In reality no, once you have an anemone in the correct lighting that is all the food it will need, but since you are bringing this anemone from a PC lighted tank, for a month or two i would spot feed it once a week.
