New Aquapod

Does anyone know if Current-USA's 12 gallon Aquapod has a second version now. I know they just came out but my LFS said they are being released 1-16-06. Im wondering if this is just a fix on the electrical issues. I have one on order. I hope im making the correct tank choice. Oh, I have emailed this question to Current-Usa with no response!!

Current USA does have a new version of the 12g out. Once you get your new nano, the first thing i would check is for cracks, if you see no cracks, open the hood, and on the bottom left hand corner of the heat shield there should be a black serial number. if there is a number then you got a new one, and the hood should be wired correctly. but if there is no serial number like mine, then the hood is wired incorrectly.

Thanks Devilboy. Are they having glass issues also? Or is this a standard practice when aquariums are shipped. One of the reasons I chose to get the aquapod was the 5mm glass.

Yes! There is a new version coming out for both the 12g and the 24g. The 24g is supposed to have a refugium, refugium lighting and loc-piping. I'm holding out for the 24g. The are supposed to be out the second part of February.

I called Current to tell them what I was looking for in a nano. I was specifically asking about water flow technologies when I was told that the new Aquapod will have a return that spits in two using Loc-piping. I was also told about the stuff I previously mentioned. Finally, they said they were doing something with timers for the lights as well.
I'm really impressed with Current. Nano tanks need good lighting, water flow, and the refugium is a really nice to have.

the 1st one is the blueish lights the second is the blue lights and thw white lights together the third is the white lights and the 4th is the lighting system i didnt take any pics of the moonlights bc there really tiny u wouldnt be able to see them.

The new one does not come out until later this month. I believe the 12g is coming out this month and the 24g coming out the begining of next month. I don't remember. I plan on checking with Nano Customs as we get closer to the end of the month.

How does the lunar lights look? I was concerned that they might not light the whole tank and look more like spot lights. What is your impression?
