New Blenny and Algae

I saw someone else's post today about feeding algae sheets to Blennies - I read that but I have another question. How do you know if you need to feed extra algae sheets or not?
My set up:
80 gal tank
about 50 lb of live rock
1 blenny
2 clowns
2 shrimp
several blue leg hermits.
There is alot (so i think) of green and brown algae on the live rock. If I dont scrape the green algae off the glass with a magnet every day, by the 2nd day little green algae hairs will start to accumulate on the tank.
I have seen my blenny much on the live rock, take a few quick bites and then go hide. When I feed the frozen shrimp brine to my clowns, I do not see the blenny go after any of this food.
So how do I know if he's hungry or if I should be feeding him more? Ive only had him for about a week.
