New branches on a Branching Hammer?

Is this how a branching hammer coral grows? Are these little protrusions new branches?

Yeah, mine does that, they don't seem to die even though they aren't getting any light and get smooshed all the time, give them some space and time and they will grow into more branches.

Thanks you all. Yea, Stimpy the sixline is not at all camera shy. I have to scoot him and the two clowns out of the way when I want to take a serious coral picture!
