Just bought a BTA yesterday and this morning found it had squeezed itself throught the rocks and settled in the back of the tank behind all the live rock. Do I need to try to get him out? Or will he maybe come back into the open on his own? Thanks

Well, welcome to the joy of owning an anemone...They go where they want, they get caught in power heads, and sting your corals as it searches for a happy place to settle.
You need to understand that an anemone has no eyes..they follow the flow of water. So your power heads are pushing the water to the back of the tank. The anemone settles on that edge to collect food that will flow by it. They use their sticky fingers to catch anything that comes close.
If you change your power heads to where the flow settles toward the front of the tank..the anemone should move to a better collecting place. Be sure to cover the power heads because they draw water to the blades to disperse the water...the anemone will follow the flow and get chopped up.

Thanks---It's been quite a challenge getting those powerheads positioned so they weren't churningup sand somewhere--we currently have 2 pointing at each other down the backside of the tank, kind of right into the rocks. still have little whirpools of sand moving around in the front and the 2 featherdusters and 1 LTA seem to be getting good flow there. It actually seems it moved to a place of less flow. I know our yellow tang was kind of disturbed to find the anemone back there..lol..Will it hurt to just leave him there for awhile and see if he moves again? maybe where we and the maroon clown we bought him for can enjoy him? Thanks again!
