Your tank is looking really nice Frank. I especially like your new "hairy" fish. They are so cute! I have a one year old Cocker Spaniel and just love him to death. We also have a lab/shepard mix, she's almost 9 years old, very sweet dog. But she get's a little anoid at the "puppy" sometimes.

Quick question, when I am ready to add coral to my tank do I have to be careful how fast I add them. With fish I know you want to take your time (3-4 weeks between each one), but do you have to do that with coral. Also, some coral you don't want to put next to each other, right?
Frank, your corals look awesome!

i know with fish you have to be careful not to add to many to quickly because of the waste they produce and the food you feed them. I had asked about whether or not corals add to the bioload of the tank (as to whether they produce nitrates, ammonia, ect.) and they said no not to the extent that fish do. So i've been ordering like eight to ten at a time online and putting them in. And yes certain corals cant go next to each other. like ones with long sweeper tentacles or some soft corals as some can be toxic. Congrats on your tank and cant wait to see pictures. :cheer:

they are a PITA!!!!!!!
i wish i never got them. My lfs sold them to me as reef safe leaving out the fact that if you get two (which i did) one changes --- to female to make a mated pair and they will spawn and potentially hurt your sps
so now im stuck with the chore of trying to catch 2 freaking specks in my 490 im hoping if i just keep chasing them they will stress and die on their own as horrible as that sounds.

Do you place your new corals in a QT before putting them in your display tank? I have been told that you should.

technically i should be qt'ing everything...but...ive been ordering off live aquaria. Dont know if you guys have ever had any interaction with these guys but they say they quarantine all their specimins and so far i havent had any trouble. ::knock on wood:: and so far excellent service. Had a birdnest break and start turning white and they credited me for the whole cost. :cheer: so yeah i dont ever see myself ordering or getting my corals from anywhere else then there so im just gonna cross my fingers and hop for the best.

although it was 13 but idk if my bubble coral will make it. The bag had popped in transit and when i recieved it i didnt realize the bag had popped open and when i went to acclimate them i realized the bag didnt have water in it but i put it in the tank and the thing start blooming a bit so ill update you guys on the process of that tough little guy. They credited me the whole price for the coral though so hopefully this guy makes it if not oh well. I must say im thoroughly suprised with coral. They are a lot tougher than i give them credit for
