new chili coral

any know what this coral like?
just got it and not quite sure what it like.

Not even sure if this is the same thing, could never get a real ID on it. But mine has been through h... and back and is thriving, just can't kill it. I heard they are hard to keep, in my case, not true. I have it under T5's at the bottom of my tank. I feed it cyclopeeze, oyster eggs and DT's phyto.

not 100% sure, but i think there just filter feeders, no light needed. could be wrong though. i think i also remember reading that in the wild they grow upside down under ledges or something.
and on a side not, i think you may want to invest in some more green star polyps

It doesn't like light....so you need to place it in low or min. light area.

You need to place the chili coral in a very low light area. Under rock overhangs are good. The coral will shrink up and look very small in the day time, but at night it will expand and have little flower like polyps all over it. You can feed it during this time.

I will go with filter feeder also. Mine hangs upside down no matter which way I turn it. low light and good current to bring it food.
I am surprised no one has flamed you yet for not researching your purchase before buying it.

maybe not for chili coral, BUT GOD HELP YOU IF IT WAS A TANG IN 55 :scared: . Those extremist are like bloodhounds when it comes to a post three pages long that says they have a tang in a 55 gallon.

is anyone know why my chili coral only bloom at night and it shrink doing the day?
could it be too much light in my tank?
i have 250w MH and 2(96w) PFO in a 58g tank above the water about 2-3 inch
anything right under my MH seem not doing well unless is light lover :hilarious
