Well my 29 gal. tank is sealed.
I put in a plenum and added 60 lbs. of ls.
It's cloudy and I added some frozen brine shrimp.
I have one powerhead and a heater running along with a filter.
Now my questions are= How soon before I start testingFor am, ni, and na.
Since there is only 23 gals. of water "after the sand was added" how much of a water change and when?
thx Mike

Your tank should clear up soon. If you can see the shirp decomposing you can test for am. If it's not visible, just wait a day or two and then test. When you get a significant am reading, you should also get a ni reading and then an na reading. When am and ni are at 0 change out about 7-8 gallons and your na should drop quite a bit.
