Thanks, I am looking forward to everything this week! The new T5 lights are coming this week, we're going to go buy a protein skimmer this week, and grab another rock or two. I also ordered my refractometer, and GFCI finally, and they should arrive before Friday. Going to be a good week.
I am running the tests now, so I will post in a bit.

Alright, here is what I have as of now...
pH- 7.9 running low, but consistent. I am thinking a buffer is the solution at this point...
alkalinity- 214ppm
nitrate- 0
nitrite- 0.1
ammonia- 0.2
so my tank is cycling again with the addition of the rock, as I was down to 0 reads on nitrate, nitrite, and ammonia, we'll see how it goes the rest of the week. Doing a water change in a few minutes here.
Tonight's goals:
1. water change, approx 5 gallons
2. buy additional rock(s)
3. buy and setup protein skimmer
4. buy a reef master kit
and carry on with the cycle.

almost there,, you may have another bit of nitrate when you add the new rock..
with the PH being 7.9 you should be fine, let it get stable and after you get your lights on check it again during the day and at night and see what it is.. it really depends on what kind of corals you end up getting if you need to change it..

Ok, thanks for the tip. It has read 7.9 from the first time I tested it, so at least it stays steady. I will check again next week after my lights have been here for a few days.
We are restricted to only keeping soft corals in Hawaii, and I know we will try zoanthids because they are stocked locally, so no shipping charge!

I have gone ahead and moved over to a new thread, https://forums.saltwaterfish.com/t/390360/our-final-build-thread#post_3456258 because I have 3 or so posts going about the same tank, and none of them are correct from the beginning.
