new computer

My hp pavillion 9000 got fried friday. Lightning hit just our side my house and came in thru the phone lines. I am getting it repaired (have surge coverage), but it wont be for at least 2 weeks.
I have been wanting a new lap top, so I went and bought a Toshiba. so far I really like it. Its very fast. I hate a slow computer. We have been using an old laptop that I got my husband about 10 yrs ago, but it was soooooo slllloooowwwwww.
Anyone else use a toshiba laptop. Mine is a satellite P305

I just purchased the satellite M305D. It is taking some getting use to, I have never used a laptop before and I am new to Vista.

its not to bad, I have vista on my pavillion. The thing that really stinks is I have probably lost all my pictures and some music. I have some backed up on my external harddrive, but a lot of stuff from this summer wasnt.

depending on what fried, you might be ok in terms of recovering things.

I have had it for about a week now and I am getting used to it. I am thinking about getting an external mouse though.
