So I got a foxface from here a couple weeks ago along with a coral banded shrimp. U heard these shrimp are somewhat aggressive. My foxface has been missing for about 4 days now - or hiding in the rock but I don't think thats the case. Would it be possible the coral banded killed the fish? Or if it randomly died would the shrimp be able to make quick time of it? I'm all bummed, was a birthday gift. If very aggressive should I get rid of the shrimp and get a different kind of shrimp that isn't so aggressive or are they not that bad? I want a community tank and purposely am trying to get nonaggressive animals so I don't have to deal with losses like this. I had to spend $80 to get a $30 or $40 fish.

I have had a coral banded shrimp for 8 months now and have had my smaller fish 'disappear' (fire fish and neon cleaner) he also made quick work of a fire shrimp (I was going to move him but thought the shrimp would be safe for at least one day) nope he was gone the follwoing morning. I also have a coral beauty that has half of its pectoral fin missing. I believe the coral banded shrimp is the culprit. They are supposed to eat bristle worms which is why I purchased him but I have a lobster (blue spiney) that makes quick snacks of them so I really dont need him anymore. I feel your pain and I plan on moving mine to by dragon moray tank to clean up any bristle worms in that tank and then will probably leave him there.

Thanks,
the coral banded is very cool. The firefox has not been all that shy during the day since I received it. So to now see it period for 4 or 5 days now seems strange to me. It seemed to be doing good, eating algae, swimming with one of my clowns, and all that. If he doesn't appear I may just rid myself of the coral banded and have one ordered for me from a lfs.

My CBS is a total jerk. I am thinking of hiring an assassin. I would love to replace him with a cleaner shrimp but I can't catch him!!!
