The fish store that i am thinking of purchasing some fish from is a 3 hr drive from home. How long can i have the fish in the bag for? will it last? any info would be great

That is an interesting question; the issues are oxygen and ammonia. All of the fish stores I know of make sure there is ample oxygen. Ammonia is a Another issue. I would assume when you buy on line the fish are not feed that day. Your LFS is another situation. Try to pic up your fish or ask your LFS not to feed the day you are picking up your fish. And you should be fine with the time frame you mentioned
