lemon peel angle

kole tang

fox face

flame angle

magestic angel

sailfin tang

maroon clownfish

this is a wish list of some fish to keep untill i upgrade or if they can stay in ther. ther are two small triggers in the 40g one being about 3'' and the other about 1 1/2'' and a false percula clown fish. all the fish get along but the tank looks empty(because my eel that is now gone). please list what you think about the fish i WOULD like to have.

Wouldn't the tangs fight? the kole tang would work in a 90 but the sailfin gets up 14" And wouldn't all the angles fight? I think the maroon clown might pick on your percula. Also what kind of fox face?

Oh that makes more since. Also what triggers do you currently have? and I think the kole tang, any one of the angels or the fox face would work maybe even the tang or fox face with one of the angels

But they are messy and down the line you might have issues with them fighting. But I think as long as you get a long or wide 90 and not a tall you could keep them and the kole tang or fox face and an angel if your filtration is up for it. Plus you could get your percula a buddy if you wanted too.

but wich fish do you think could go in the 40 for now? im not worried abou the triggers i spacificly chose these two for compatability in the 90g. but the other fish that go with them is a differens story.

You could get one of the angels and a second perc for sure. I think the tang if bought small might be fine but I would a few months just so it's closer to your upgrade if you want the fox face you might want to wait till a few months before your upgrade cause they grow a few inches a year but he might work out depending on what size you get him

true. but i dont know how comfortable i would be with a 125 upstairs. let alone a 90. pluse if it keeps my trigger happy im fine.

I think the 125 would be better cause they'll have more room you have more fish the water won't get polluted as fast. Does it have to be upstairs cause your right I'd be worried about just the 90 too

i want it to go on the 1st floor but my mom doesnt(big problem). i keep trying to convince her that being able to see the tank from the kitchen and seeing the fish swim would look nice but she wont buge. so i was given a 6 1/4' area for my tank upstairs. the biggest i can go 125g(i hope they are not 8' tanks) and the weight is the big issue. so im trying to fit everything i want into a 90g and it looks nicer IMO. but a 125 would open up a lot of doors and i care more about the fish i can get but that may not work out. :( if i could put it on the 1st floe i can go as big as a 250g.

A 125 should only be at most 6'. Maybe you can convince her by telling her that a 125 will weigh something like 1500lbs and 90 probably 1000lbs so either way the floor will probably need to be reinforced. I know what you mean if I could I would love to a 10' tank

i know it sucks. i will haft to do a lot of convinsing. the floor i would put the tank on should already be reinforced its right by a granet counter and sink so i figure they did a little extra there when they built the house.

Don't count on the floor being reinforced since standard floor joists can support normal plumbing with no problem. Assuming that the floor is to code, a 125 should be no problem either. When I put in my 110 I put angle irons from the front to the back legs of the stand at either end so that the weight was distributed over 2 joists, just to be sure. When I replaced the 110 with a 220 I did reinforce the floor, just to be sure. When it comes to fish tanks in upper floors, "to be sure" is a very good thing.

Take a look at the adult size of some of the fish you are proposing - some of them are very large (tangs like the sailfin, pomocanthid angels like the majestic) and should be in even a 125 or larger (larger=better).
