NEW FORUM Suggestion

I'd like to suggest a new forum for Inverts.
What do ya'll think?

sure. we have a fish discussion topic, why not inverts.

I think its a good Idea in theory BUt I think tons of invert questions will still end up on the reef board because inverts are a part of our reefs just like there are tons of fish questions and LR questions in the reef forum becfause they are part of our reef system.
I also think an "UNknown/id this" forum would be nice too. but if you keep adding too many different forums you end up with a thousand forums with only a couple of posts and threads..... just a thought though.

Those are good ideas too!
Maybe the ID could go with photography in the title of the thread.
And, like the sales categories, there could be a Fish discussion, Invert discussion and Coral discussion as separate entities. The reef tanks forum could remain for the 'multi-faceted' questions.

I think that it would be great to add a Inverts section. There are alot of ways to go from this section,Hermits,Snails,Shrimp,Starfish ext..

What would be really neat I think is have a page where everyone can post a picture of there tank. And they would be allowed 1 per tank but you could update. So then I could see everyones tank picture on a couple pages!

they should enable the PM system along with signatures. everybody ould have links to there tank pics along with there water parameters up for a quick reference.

I disagree...there are plenty of threads unrelated to inverts in the reef section.

pms would get rid of all the people who come into a thread and say: sorry to hijack, but soandso, where did you buy your clownfish from. and stupid stuff like that that throw threads off course.

I think 'reef tanks' is too general....We have multiple forums for different fishes, why not have one for 'corals' and one for 'inverts' to help break up the reef scene?
I find myself using the search function alot to try and narrow down the myriad of threads in the reef tanks section....
Just a thought...

i like being able to PM too but i think people would use it in ways that are against the sites rules(asking for websites etc) and i really dont think that they want to read every pm etc...i voted yes for an invert forum though

the owners of swf.com tell the people who run the VBulletin what to include/ exclude when they update the site. the last update felt like it was a long time ago, so we may be in store for a new one soon.
