I received a new frag rack which is a prototype I believe called the magnarox
For now I have placed it in my 54G.....It looks like it belongs there too.....I think this will be a GREAT item when formally "manufactured"....I will let the designer of this product claim it....LOL....

Looks pretty good... I think the next batch will be a little darker, and less "corraline" on it. Now, gotta get some actual crags on that bad boy!! ;-)

Thanks! And I don't think they'll be that expensive, either. I have to find a good supplier of bulk neodymium magnets, and once I jump that hurdle they should be in the mid-$30's. I have different shapes planned as well. I have two forms molded with test-casts pulled so far, and I want to have at least one large corner piece available. The magnet on the inside of the aquarium is embedded in the resin structure, and the outer magnet will either have a rubber coating or a machined plastic "handle." Either way, as Lois can probably attest to...these magnets are VERY strong. The bare outside magnet I sent to Lois would be a potential hazard to children, and could potentially break an aquarium if allowed to fly at the glass where the inner piece was located.
I'm looking at the patent process, and it's daunting. But I may get it started and test out with some local places here to see if there's any serious interest.

That's awesome.
I'm sold, definitely keep me informed on how these are going. I have some pretty good connections in reef clubs in the NY area (and these people have cash! LOL) so definitely let me know.

Hey Henry thanks I was looking for some magnets to hold doors on my new stand, this place is 10 minutes from where I live.

So is the shelf itself a composite material, cement or what?
The shelf is made of glass-reinforced-plastic -- i.e., polyurethane resin with microbeads mixed in as a filler to keep it nice and light. They actually float. I wanted to do that so people could put heavier items on the "shelf" without any fear that the magnet wouldn't hold. They are then painted with a series of aquarium-safe acrylics, and coated again with a clear polyurethane protective layer to keep the eventual snail damage down to a minimum. Corraline and regular green algae grow onto the resin just fine. The inner magnet is sealed in the resin and will not ever contact the saltwater environment. Think of this stuff to be like "Great Stuff" foam, only a lot denser.

Very Cool! Thank you.
If there is enough interest, I will hopefully be able to have SWF.com sell them as well. Still a LONG way from that point, though.
