I was currious what is the proper care for a Goldentail. Do they tend to climb out of the tank, feeding times, what to feed and stuff like that. It is in one of my books but the info is limited.

I have one. I feed him usually every other day raw shrimp, squid, and silver sides. I havent had any trouble with him trying to get out, at least that I have seen. He pretty much stays in his rock until he starts prowling around to find something to eat. If he is not hungry he shows no interest in eating anything you put in front of him.

may I ask his temperment towards other inhabitants?... Really want one, but my lunare wrasse is only 5 inches, and not to brag, but Ive never seen a lunare with as much color and personality as the one I have. I would hate to see him be lunch.

So far mine hasnt bothered anything in my tank. The only time mine even looks at my fish is when they have something in thier mouth that he wants to eat. Other than that the triggers can go in the rock right next to him and he doesnt pay them any attention. And I am talking about a 3-4" niger and 1-2" picasso. Not real big fish either.

Kart,
I was also wondering about the amount of food they will consume per size. I am going to get a new one from SWF and they said about 12 inches in length. Also do you get your food from your nearest gerocery store?

Mine is about the same size as you are looking at. He eats between 1/2 and a whole shrimp, not sure how much squid, or 3-4 silversides depending on what I feed them. I get squid from work(freebie) and the shrimp I am feeding them I had bought a box for myself from work(I work in a cold storage warehouse so I get them at cost) for myself but after hurricane Ivan I didnt know if they defrosted or not so I wouldnt eat them. I will try to get a pic of him and post it.
