new growth??

i noticed on one of my live rock something new....its dark green and looks like a ball bundle of tangled fishing line....is it growth or am i just seein things

Yeah that's what it looks like but smaller.....is it good or bad???

could be just hair algae doctor...w/o a proper pic...u know

if it is chaeto, the picture from above then it is good. They consume nitrates, phosphates, and are good for lots of small critters. I have some in my display tank and the only downfall is that sometimes i get little pieces stuck on filter intakes
