New guy needs some help!

Hey everyone! Completely new here of the past few weeks and this new addiction is taking over as many of you probably know. About 3 weeks ago I purchased a used saltwater tank from Craigslist. I think I got a pretty killer deal on it and I couldn't turn it down after looking at prices at my local LFS. It's a 55 gallon with a nice black wooden stand comes with top, two lights, two penguin double wheel filters(sorry I didn't look at the model), 250 watt heater, uv sterilization kit, 30 lbs of live rock, 30 lbs of crushed coral, dead coral pieces, 4 whisper air bubblers (may use them for my freshwater tank), tons of tubing, gravel filter, the list goes on. What would be a good deal?! Just curious to what a steal would be to you guys to see if I made out well.
Back to the tank... I purchased it from a nice enough guy he took it down while I was there donated his fish to a friend(none showed any distress or illness) and we left about 6 inches of water in the bottom and left the filters alone to not disturb the bacteria and hauled it to my house. I gave everything some TLC set it all up and filled it up and let it cycle added a power head, some marine lights and let it run it's course for a few days. After the few days I tested for everything and it came back a-okay took it to my LFS and they backed up my results.... So it was time for some fish! I purchased 2 smaller chromis and a valentini puffer. So far so good the puffer and chromis are doing great they are eating frozen mysis once a day and krill for treats. After about a week I added two medium Ocellaris clowns and they are a great addition! I bought the clowns last night and am planning on feeding them tonight. Also I acclimated all fish with a drip... Seemed to work just fine. Am I doing all this right my levels are testing good and I dont want to get ahead of myself with all of this. I also don't want to overdo the bioload in my tank. Have I reached my limit or is there room for more later? I also do not plan on getting a fish until it gets bigger and then kicking it out of my tank so I'm wondering on adult sizes for my aquarium capacity... If I have more room feel free to throw out some suggestions as to good matches! Any kind of help or suggestions with my setup will help! Thanks!- Nick
PS I will try to upload pictures asap

WELL first welcome to SWF
2nd....SLOW DOWN.......I really think you are rushing things.....you should have let the tank stabilize longer.
Pictures would help....I hope you are not using bubblers or a gravel filter in this tank

No to bubblers and no to gravel filters they just came with it. Just powerheads and the two penguin bio wheels. I've done a pretty good amount of research through books and speaking with different people both at my LFS and online. Thanks for the comment. I'm done adding fish for some time until everything stabilizes I checked everything this morning so far no spikes.

I agree that you went a little fast with the addition of those fish but other than that it seems you are doing your research. In the meantime while you wait start planning out what other livestock you want. Do you have any sort of CUC (clean up crew)? You didn't mention it. That will be your next additions if not. Good luck!

Well thanks for the constructive criticism! Honestly I was new to it and I tried to do my research as best as I could. I have all of the test kits and whatnot and have been on the lookout for any negative impact that me messing up and putting in too many fish too quick. With my next tank I will be sure to ask more questions on a professional forum such as this. What's done is done... Sounds like I goofed up a bit.no clean up crew as of now. My LFS's clerk really nice honest guy. Shows marine fish across the country.... Was telling me about my valentini possibly picking on snails and crabs if he gets curious enough. I don't want to end up spending a bunch of money to through a crew in there to get nibbled and pestered. What crew would be a good choice?

Hi, Welcome to the site.
You did not do everything perfect...however you had already cured sand and rock, which saved your butt and your fish. That means you lucked out, and all is well. We all make mistakes and we do our best to not to.... Ideally...you SHOULD have a quarantine tank. The puffer is an eater of CUC...so I don't know what to offer on that line. Get a few and see what happens.

I now realize my mistakes and will make my best efforts due to keep my fish happy and healthy! What's done is done is done and now all I can do is keep them healthy! Thanks I will probably get a few crabs and see how it goes...

Thanks flower! As far as at as other fish goes am I maxed out? I wouldn't be getting anything new for a while to make sure everything is a okay since I goofed up to start. Can anyone recommend anything that would be a cool addition and be compatable. I really like some of the dwarf angels. I'd really like to get something colorful!

So far you have
2 clowns
2 Chromis
Little Puffer
Wait a few weeks
...a quarantine would be the perfect waiting place....you could add 1 dwarf angelfish. ONLY one per tank your size.
