New guy with a new 12G nanocube for FOWLR

So, I am a very new, NEW, guy to saltwater tanks and just set it up.
So far, I have a stock 12G nanocube and after a lot of reading, I have decided to go with FOWLR.
What I have done so far is removed the bioballs and ceramic rings, cleaned the charcoal bag very well, and rinsed out the tank.
I Filled the tank up with pre-mixed water I bought from the LFS and added sand to it. It was a little cloudy, so I put the stock sponges back int the first chamber for now. The second chamber has a 50Watt heater and the charcoal bag and the last chamber has the pump.
Now what I don't understand is, what do I use as filters, if any, after I remove the stock sponges?
Also, after a while pf reading I know to let the water cycle for a week or more, and I am going to do to atleast a 2 week minimum before adding a cleaning crew.
Any suggestions?

i would take sponge and all out
and in 1st chamber add chemi pure, purigen and filter floss
and wait for a cycle to add any cuc

Start testing your ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels to keep an eye on the cycle. Don't add anything until ammonia and nitrites have risen and fallen, and are zero. Nitrates should be as close to zero as possible. Test pH too, just to keep an eye on it.

Havn't had the time to go out and buy a testing kit yet, but will do soon. Ignore the thermometer, I am looking to get a digital one with the other supplies.
12G with Fiji rocks (~ 14 lbs)

Today brushed off the dead parts of the LR and put some LS in the second chamber. The plan is to put LR rubble and chaeto in 2, is that okay or have I read wrong. Also, can I break the smaller LR i have into smaller pieces to put in 2?
one more thing, i have the freshwater master test kit, can I use this for testing the ammonia and nitrates with this, or would i need the SW/Reef testing kit?
